Description

The pictures certainly don’t do justice to this little gem. This solid Coober Pedy opal has a broad flash across the face which I can only describe as tangerine. It is not red, it is not orange, but sits in the colour spectrum somewhere between those two. The camera is only picking up the colour on one small section for each turn of the opal, but the colour does play across the whole face. A little bit of underlying blue as well when you look deeply into the gem.

The gem is shaped in a small oval for easy setting into a pendant or perhaps a ring, and weighs 3 carat. Measurement 13 x 9 x3 mm.
